We are please to offer this amazing exclusive batch of mezcal from a small cooperative in San Luis Amatlan, Oaxaca that has been distilling for five generations. This blend of six agaves features some very rare wild agaves, and the methods of distillation are also rare to encounter, such as crushing the cooked agave with wooden mallets.
Upon opening the bottle, you will encounter a pleasant minerality and brininess, followed by earth, granite, and green herbaceous notes similar to tarragon and rosemary. Some of the agaves take up to 25 years to mature, yielding deep terroir and complexity.
Here are the six agaves and their percentage in the blend: Tepeztate 12%; Tobala 21%; Coyote 11%; Madrecuixe 19%; Espadin 15% and Bicuixe 38%.
