A decidedly ample, large-scaled wine, the Diamond Mountain Cabernet packs a real punch, with dense, packed fruit and huge swaths of tannin that take turns in driving the balance. Give this explosive Cabernet at least a few years in bottle to be at its best. I imagine the tannins will always remain a bit grainy in texture. A comparison with the 2016 is quite illustrative of the personalities of the two vintages.”
